Samantha Gunn

​Being an innovative go-getter, Samantha Gunn has led thriving teams and programs across Canada, inspiring others along the way. 

 

Growing up in a low-income and single-parent home, Samantha learned responsibility at a young age, and how to create success from within. She experienced a different perspective than most of her peers, which has led her to think critically about the many different facets of life. Samantha had the privilege to participate in sport at an early age and coaches nurtured her athletic talent.

 

She pursued her strengths and developed a tenacious drive to do her best with a high level of integrity. Samantha became an accomplished multi-sport athlete, receiving many prominent awards such as Rookie of the Year in 2012 for the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association and competing in Canada Games in 2013. She co-captained teams to championships, supported teammates to be their best on and off the court, and became an active leader in the athletic community across Canada.

Recognizing the positive impact her leadership has made throughout her athletic journey, Samantha adapted her achievements and developed skills into her professional career. Understanding what makes a team accomplished, she has dedicated her time and passion to enrich stakeholders to work together by creating a space that values respect and responsibility. Using a client-centered approach, Samantha has coordinated various programs that serve the needs of communities with sustainability and innovation, while supporting teams to deliver exceptional service. ​​

 

Aside from her professional endeavors, she is an advocate for environmental stewardship and most recently led a campaign with over 4,000 supporters to conserve land for the outdoor education of youth on Vancouver Island. She currently lives in Victoria, BC, holds a Bachelor of Recreation from Memorial University and is currently pursuing her Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.​​

 

Samantha Gunn may be 5’2” on the outside, but she is 6’2” at heart.
